Since 2020, OCF has been a member of La French Fab, with strong values embodied by the company to promote its business lines and its expertise, both in France and abroad.
By committing to and exemplify the core values of La French Fab, OCF is also making a commitment to employment and training, the environment, and digitalisation.
What is La French Fab?
It is a group of companies, economic actors, institutions and industrial sites in France that share the same desire to develop and encourage French industry.
All of La French Fab’s members are bearers of its strong values and lofty ambitions:
Accelerate the transformation of industry in France by spreading the concepts and technologies of the Industry of the Future
Network the energies of French industrial actors
Provide visibility and pride to the actors building French industry every day and to French industrial excellence, both in France and abroad
Embody the prosperous future of French industry and the attractiveness of its different sectors, from training (initial, vocational and continuing) to employment
Communicate about the government aid available to industrial activities in France.
OCF, committed to employment and training
Since the company’s acquisition in 2007, we have been working to expand the number of women employed at our workshops.
We have launched an internal training programme with the aim of achieving a balance in our business:
By improving middle managers’ team management skills in partnership with the Vendée Chamber of Commerce & Industry
By working with the GERME network on improving individually, drawing from interactions with other managers to help our teams progress and to contribute to the company’s transformation
By sharing the experiences of company executives for the purpose of personal enrichment and by reaping the benefits of trainer expertise for internal rollout, thanks to the APM network
By actively participating in EKIP, our trade association
By being a member of the Réseau Entreprendre Vendée network of business leaders.
OCF, committed to the environment
Curbing climate change
We have developed refrigerated products using fluids with low global warming potential like CO2, 455a and 452a. We won an award for this innovation at the Europain 2020 trade show.
Recycling display cabinets
As members of Ecovalor Resto Pro, we collect and recycle display cabinets being replaced at our clients’ locations.
Working towards low energy consumption
In partnership with Cemafroid and Prudentis, we are working to create a “low energy” label, which currently does not exist for display cabinets.
Managing packaging and waste
In partnership with SOLFI2A:
Creation of 12 different waste sorting containers with a more demanding process than required by current regulation.
- Implementation of water coolers and insulated bottles for all 85 employees, in place since 2019.
OCF, committed to digitalisation
Reduction of paper
Since 2017, our workshop teams have been working on tablets and computers assigned by manufacturing division. This allowed us to eliminate their use of paper.
We save a half ream of paper per order launched in the workshop.
We invested in comprehensive, custom digitalisation software to replace our order binder. At the same time, we implemented a digital production planning and tracking solution.
Robotisation in support of our teams
We are robotising our sanding processes, and a study is currently underway on the subject of exoskeletons. This will help to reduce musculoskeletal disorders and the strenuousness of our operations. Our very recent investment in a Rover Smart machining centre (€210,000) is a clear illustration of our desire to advance in this direction.
- We are developing a new cleaning machine for display cabinets, tables and chairs, which will dry clean and disinfect them, so this work no longer needs to be done by hand using a cloth and brush. The unit will include a vacuum, an air compressor and a spray, so that it can clean, vacuum and disinfect the furniture in a single cleaning action.
